​​Behind the story

​This was my first novel and the story had been rattling around in my head for years. As someone who's been interested in the environment, having worked in conservation, and founded the sustainability app Earth Echo, looking after nature is important to me. I especially love trees (yes I've been known to hug a few). As the lungs of our planet, as they've often been referred to, I wondered for a long time what would happen if they got fed up of us as a species with our destruction and pollution, and decided enough was enough. That was the whole beginning of writing this story. If the trees woke up with the ultimate goal of stopping pollution, there's only one species who'd be on their hit-list.
